C.H. Moore

Homestead

The C.H. Moore Homestead is a restored Victorian mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home of the DeWitt County Museum. The mansion was completed in 1867 after the Civil War ended. Honorable Clifton H. Moore was Clinton's first resident attorney and often served as co-counsel with Lincoln in DeWitt County court cases. The Homestead is open April through December for tours. Call 217-935-6066 and visit the museum's website.
